ISPA Awards 2011 finalists announced

The Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) has announced the finalists for their annual awards which look to recognise excellence within the ISP industry. Two new categories have been added this year which include Best Over the Top TV and Best Managed Service. 46 companies have been nominated as finalists in total with 6 companies, catalyst2, C4L, Exa Networks, KC, MacAce.net, O2 UK, UKFast and Virgin Media all receiving 3 nominations each within the various categories.

The winners will be chosen by ISPA's panel of judges and will be announced on July 7th at the ISPA Awards event. Tickets are available from the ISPA Awards website.

Most Standout "non nomination" - BT Vision in the TV category.

I'm quite surprised about that. The service has come on leaps and bounds since the launch.

Best Business support from Entanet? Don't think so on that one! They do their best within BT limitations, but are happy following guidelines and not going the extra mile.

@TheGuv Is BT Vision considered to be 'over the top' though?

I've found the service to be much worse than it was 12 months ago. The box seems to crash a lot and others have improved their services in the meantime.

Hey Billy - Good point but when VM are in the list of finalists you have to wonder what the criteria was for that category.

Sorry to hear you're box has been trouble. I'd be very annoyed if that was the case. I have been very lucky - my Silver Vision box was good and the Black one is reliable.

Might be worth getting on the Vision community forums and asking for help or a customer rep to deal with a complaint?

Re-techguy. Just to clarify, Zen chose not to enter the ISPA awards this year as we tend to focus on awards that are voted for by consumers such as PC Pro and Which. Zen continue to support ISPA as a member which we have done for many years and as an ISPA council rep myself, a role which I thoroughly enjoy doing will con. We can't win every award and it's only fair others get a chance :-) I would also like to wish all the finalists in each category the very best of luck.

Zen continue to support ISPA as a member and which we have done for many years and as an ISPA council rep myself, (a role which I thoroughly enjoy) I will continue to represent Zen and the wider industry through ISPA. We can't win every award and it's only fair others get a chance :-) I would also like to wish all the finalists in each category the very best of luck.

They seem to focus on the mainstream (big) providers, look to ispreviews top50 list if you want a more accurate judgement.
