Tenby as of today has just 3.3% FTTP coverage via the Openreach FTTP network, but Ogi is set take that figure to very close to 100%.
Ogi rolling out across South Wales and we’ve have been finding new live footprint in Pembroke over the last week or so, so with the news from Ogi of a roll-out in Tenby we will add the coastal town to our list of places to check periodically.
I’m delighted to be welcoming Tenby – one of Wales’s most iconic seaside towns – to the Ogi network.
Tourist destinations like Tenby are bursting with potential – and they deserve the best connectivity to help them thrive. As we’re seeing across Pembrokeshire, only Ogi can make that access a reality right now.
Our network is helping businesses to grow, wherever they are based; supporting people to work closer to where they live; and opening up even more home entertainment choices.
Ogi’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Allwright
The roll-out will start in the autumn and has been waiting on construction embargos to be lifted (as a busy seaside town, embargos will have been in place during the busy summer) and the first properties should be able to order and have the service installed in early 2024. The Ogi website is already giving some hints of where the service is likely to appear first.
The footprint is meant to be around 5,000 premises, which is somewhat higher than the 3,965 premises we have down as being in Tenby, we’ve not seen any roll-out maps but if the Ogi figure of 5,000 is not massively rounded up we’d guess at some roll-out in Saundersfoot too.

And still we wait. No sign of OGI and Openreach have done the easy areas and have left the rest too, including my estate, which is the biggest in town and has sub 30Mbps speeds.
