Tadcaster now has a choice of two different full-fibre networks, it already has extensive by Openreach full fibre, but Zzoomm, who announced a £2.7 million investment in the town back in October 2022 with on the ground work beginning in April 2023, has now seen its first parts of the town go live.
Zzoomm offers symmetrical speeds (same upload speed as download speed) and has packages starting at £19.95/m for three months and then £29.95 for a 150 Mbps service rising all the way to 2 Gbps at an introductory price of £19.95/m for 3 months then £64.95/m on 12-month contracts.
From our checks to show the current footprint it does look like most of the other parts of Tadcaster are in the process of going live, so hopefully we will be updating the map with more locations in the next couple of weeks.
The level of investment used has two figures a £2.7 million figure given when the roll-out to Tadcaster for 3,500 homes was originally announced and a more figure of £1.25 million. It is possible that costs have proved lower, or the £1.25 million reflects the roll-out that is live so far.
