CityFibre completes full fibre build in Bracknell

Bracknell Forest area now has full fibre available to 94.9% of premises in the council area and this includes 30,000 homes that CityFibre has built its network to over the last couple of years.

CityFibre availability in Bracknell and surrounding area – February 2025

CityFibre has announced the roll-out has reached the conclusion of its primary build in the Bracknell area. Completion of the primary build means the massed roll-out is over, but where properties are passed but waiting on a way leave they will transition to ready for service once the way leave comes through. Other small areas may see roll-out where delays such as waiting on roadworks to clear a blocked duct finally take place and thus a final link in a fibre run can be made.

The completion of CityFibre’s full fibre rollout marks an exciting milestone in the upgrade of our town’s infrastructure. Fast reliable internet services are a key part of the connectivity agenda within the council’s economic strategy. This fuels business growth, leading to greater prosperity for all Bracknell residents.

Cllr Paul Bidwell, cabinet member for economy and regeneration at Bracknell Forest Council

Our rollout in Bracknell marks an exciting step forward for digital connectivity across the town. With the UK’s best available digital infrastructure under its streets, residents, businesses and public institutions will be able to reap the benefits for generations to come.

Bracknell is a town filled with opportunity and ambition, which is why it has always been such an important build for us. Full fibre is vital for the UK market’s long-term growth, and we look forward to building on our previous success powering the town’s future economic development.

Neil Madle, Partnership Manager at CityFibre

The over 30,000 homes is said to be 83% of homes in Bracknell and diving into our data we see 29,500 premises in the Bracknell exchange area, and 33,500 in the wider Bracknell Forest council area. Looking at the size of the Bracknell exchange area the 29,500 premises delivers an 82.9% coverage figure so one can infer CityFibre are using a definition close to the exchange footprint which does line up with the obvious boundary of Bracknell town, ie. ignores Ascot and Wokingham.
