Westwoodside went live with Quickline full-fibre back in January and is already on our maps, but today there are four villages in the Isle of Axholme area that can now order Gigabit capable broadband from Quickline. The villages of Beltoft, West Butterwick, Althorpe and Derrythorpe now have full-fibre available to them and should appear on our maps for Wednesday morning once we’ve determined the extent of the footprint.

The latest batch of villages should add 2,500 premises to the footprint and we’ve done a quick check and can see properties ready for service.
A very important thing to say, some outlets are saying Gigabit broadband is expensive, and yes you pay more if you want/need the full Gigabit speed, but the benefits of reliablity and less variable speeds are available with the lower priced entry level products too. So in the case of Quickline their 100 Mbps Quickline Connect service is priced at £29/m, on a 24 month contract, or with a simple 30 day rolling contract its £33/m. Price wise this undercuts the slower part fibre services from EE and BT, unless you’ve managed to sign up during a special offer and have not had an annual price rise yet.
Project Gigabit work is set to bring full-fibre to other communities in the area such as Crowle, East Lound, Graizelound, Owston Ferry and Wroot.
Rural communities have been struggling with poor connectivity for a long time, with slow and unreliable broadband being a daily challenge.
At Quickline our focus is on closing the digital divide between urban and rural areas and connecting those hard-to-reach communities that other providers have left behind.
We’re delighted to be lighting up these communities across the Isle of Axholme where so many people living and working in these small hamlets and villages will really benefit.
We had already made good progress in this rural part of North Lincolnshire and now that we are delivering Project Gigabit for the government, we will be extending our network into many of the other outlying communities in the area.

Update Wednesday 1st May 2024: Our broadband maps have been updated to show the Quickline FTTP services we can see in the villages mentioned.
work is also underway and I believe is almost complete in the neighbouring villages of Finningley, Auckley and Blaxton just across the border in South Yorkshire, hoping they are ready for service soon. Although in some streets in Auckley that were underground cabling they have installed poles to provide service.
