Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. It works only if they can increase the speed that would be brilliant. Have been trying to get fibre to home but as we know thats only in dreams at the moment

No they do not seem interested in rural areas, such where I live. I have been a customer for approximately 57 years and despite my local substation being upgraded twice since broadband was first release in this area and is now a C21station I am still on a C20 circuit. The substation is approximately 1.5 miles from my house by road which is the route of the cable. At my age and health I do not anticipate ever seeing Even fibre to the cabinet.

Having been with BT from day one, they have always provided good support, however in recent months with all their call centers being brought back to the UK only, their support and customer care has also got even better. Its a real pleasure to actually speak to a real person who understands your questions AND answers them as well, unlike the "foreign" call centres only appeared to read from a "script". Broadband speeds have been excellent, and having recently upgraded to their G.Fast service I am more than happy with their speed and customer services.

I would normally have given them a better rating except that there have been a lot of outages this past week, including I think updates - you never know the reason. OK, never for more than a few minutes but always when I'm needing the connection!

BT Broadband has been up and down like a yoyo. In times like this (during an epidemic), work from home is important, and every time it goes down I lose time and focus to establishing an alternative route (4G, in my case), and logging back in to work through multiple layers of security. Up to now, it has come back quickly, just requiring another log off and back on. Tiring. I have not called support (BTDT before, and not a happy experience). If this continues, I will have to upgrade to a more professional router, and buy a second broadband link to fail-over to. If this is due to a vast increase in people working from home (or Netflix, etc), I would have expected BT to have strategies to manage its network without disconnections.

Speed is good, 70Mbps as promised. Reliability also good, very rare to have any drops. Can not comment on support because have not needed it! However, a recent offer to renew contract for two years and receive a Ring Video Bell took some time to finally receive it. I had to contact help via their forum and this worked very well, I had two phone calls and the free gift did eventually turn up after about two and a half months!
