Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. It would appear they just want rid of us!!!

Just moved to a new-build house. OpenReach installed a Fibre to House modem without much fuss. BT installed my broadband reasonably punctually and iyt worked first time. That was a month ago. I still haven't got voice. Apparently there is a software bug in the exchange stopping this and a fix was promised for two days ago and/an update yesterday. Neither has happened.

they are not bad and appear consistent

Reliable package but still only Fibre 1 as the connection only allows up to 50MBPS Not good as its linked to the grotty telephone line

Generally quite good. Download speeds not quite as fast as approx. 12 months ago, but usually match promised speed. Average upload speed seems to have increased during same period by about 20% which is obviously good, especially for large backups to cloud. Only real problem has been need to re-boot router about twice a month when speed has dropped to very low level, though appears to be less of a problem recently.

I have been with BT for several years now and have no complaints regarding their speeds and reliability. Unfortunately this comes at a premium cost and poor customer service. unfortunately during the co-vid epidemic this has become a problem. they have informed me of an increase in my call plan, but i am unable to speak to anyone regarding this as obviously their advisers are down to the bare minimum, at a time they are most needed. I dont think they are alone in this, but introducing price hikes at this time is a bit callous.
