Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. My broadband has improved considerably over the last few months. Unfortunately, after many years of dreadful service. I constantly complained about the service, including writing to the chairman, and was told the issues were with me, not the service. Everything came to a head when I could not sign in to my BT Freeview service extras, and another department started to look at things. After about six months, and lots of frustrating calls, the problem was resolved by switching the port that my line was in to another one in the on-street cabinet. The tools that BT use to check the lines are not adequate to do a proper check, which I am sure affects a lot of other people too. In the same period of time they have also improved the dreadful e-mail service they offered, and it now appears to perform as well as my other supplier. Unfortunately, over those earlier years they denied it was their problem and had me do lots of unnecessary (and harmful) changes to my computer. It would also have cost me a lot of money if a third party had come in to support me.

BT is over priced, other providers offer better & cheaper deals. Customer service is VERY poor & needs to get a grip & look after it's long standing customers, rather than try to tempt new customers with cheap 'glittery deals at the expense of it's long standing loyal customers.

Our two children who are x box fans keep telling us the internet is constantly dropping out and we have now witnessed this ourselves when at times our Sky TV struggles to load the TV guide. we are really unhappy considering we are paying for super fast in Torquay and finding at times it either extremely slow to cope or keeps turning off

BT have been fairly stable for a while now, occasionally I lose the signal altogether but one thing that is irritating me is that during the storms earlier this year, a pine tree came down and brought the phone cable down too, the repair that was done is pretty unsightly and a cable has been fed from my property across to 2 neighbouring houses and I am waiting for them to come back and sort it out, there are big loops of cable attached to the side of my house and it looks awful.

Twice in the last year we have needed some equipment replaced. Each time the replacements were sent not only to another address but to another country. Each time we contacted BT,told them we had not received our equipment and they promised it would be sent out soon. Still it did not arrive. The 4th time of contact they found they were sending it to the wrong address though they had our address, they said there was a note at the bottom that said anything to be sent was always to be sent to this address in Wales we had never heard of. Once was shocking, for it to happen again a year or so later is beyond the pale.
