Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. Most problems have been for us resolved to mutual benefit, that why we recommend them

Expensive but not easy to switch once you've got locked in to relying on their email addresses. Reliably fast download speed and, of equal importance to me, fast upload speed. Very few connection outages although the router firmware seems to receive and install updates more frequently than I would like which means loss of internet connection for 6 or 7 minutes from time to time while it does so. Too much aggressive marketing of ever more expensive upgrades and other services I have no need for.

BT are so EXPENSIVe! SKY Broadband are - or so it seems - so much cheaper. On the other hand, BT Broadband is MOST reliable.I wish that BT's 'Contracts' were 12 or 18 months rather than the 24 months that BT insist on.

During the last couple of weeks the BT connection has got slower and slower. Today I had to wait just over five minutes for a 1m 24 s YouTube clip to load. I am now checking out other providers (except TalkTalk).

Whilst, most of the time, I am receiving close to the promised speeds my service is unreliable. At times the speed drops to one third of the promise and there are regular drop-outs when the service stops completely. At times there is zero upload capability. BT/Openreach engineers are satified with my installation (Ethernet connection etc)but are unwilling to track the causes of the intermittency which clealy lies upstream of my home. One customer service representative has told me that five failures a day is considered normal! I continue to pursue rectification.

Had to speak with customer service as my contract was due for renewal: very helpful, feel I got a good deal for my landline and agreed to move my mobile to them as the deal was better than my current supplier. New Sim arrived in 24 hours and the changeover due to happen within 4 days. Fantastic.
