Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. Been with BT many years. Generally am very happy. Occasional service issues but never enough to cause concern. Administration often leaves much to be desired. Have no intention - in the forseeable future - of leaving BT.

Had a few months of keep having to phone up BT as we was not getting the speed we where paying for, Eventually after many visits from Open reach and spending a lot of time on the phone the speed went past the minimum gauranetteed speed. We are still convinced that BT had throated back the service as the engineers could not find ay faults and the speed went up out of the blue, so convinced BT knew what the issue was and just wasted our time Since the speed has increased we have not had an issues and in fairness to BT it a fairly realaiable service which is needed with the whole household wanting to use the Wifi

Very unhappy. Got a new contract, they sent a new hub (BT Smart Hub 2). Never needed an ethernet cord with the old hub (BT 5). Now have to have it tethered to the laptop which means can't use laptop anyplace but close to the hub. Thinking of swapping out hubs.

First 2 months very very poor, with performance below their agreed minimum speed levels and frequent loss of connection. Lost connections seemed to stop after router replaced, although service was still too slow. Frequent engineer calls. Assume they must have eventually upgraded some equipment as during one day the performance increased and although there are occasions when performance dips, generally getting about 110gbps down and 23gbps up, with ping fairly volatile.

I have been impressed with my BT fibre to the home service. I took the deal in November 1019. 150Mbs down and 30Mbs up. It has been very reliable. Ideal to work from home during Covid. I always get 140Mbs down and 30Mbs. Excellent The app works well. No issues or concerns.

Been with BT for around 2 years this time round. Noticed I was out of contract and decided to migrate away to save a few quid. The transfer day came and went. BT had assured me nothing wrong, even checked the OR website and I was told good to go.... Then I found out BT put a stop on the migration according to OR via my new ISP. Reason not known, complaint put in to BT. In the meantime I was fed up and spoke to a BT chap in Truro, who offered to give me a new deal. He told me my FTTC would be on average 63-65 mbps with a failure speed of 53mbps. He sold me Fibre 1, well it sounds like Halo 1, but is actually a 50mbps max service something he forgot to mention. He also added BT anytime at my request even though I told him I only use the landline on a Sunday. Complaints Manager calls me all apologetic, turns out the order was for migration of both fttc and landline, but they missed off the fetch, that is why BT stopped the migration. To add insult to injury I was told that I would transfer to this package on 16/2/21 by the Complaints Manager, although the order tracker says it doesn't know when I will be on the wrong package. Sorry BT, but your excuses are crap. 3 different people said there was no issue with my service migrating and they were all wrong and a 4th sold me the wrong package. Then a complaints manager told me I was 'upgrading' on 16th February, when the My BT app was telling me it doesn't know when!! That makes 5 employees of BT plus the person who cocked the order up in the first place who have failed to do their job professionally. Once this order is cancelled from the system I will be going LLU, although I wish I could afford Starlink.

Hopeless, BT & Openreach:- Too big, disparate, cumbersome. One department does not talk to another, customers have great difficulty sorting out a multitude of problems

BT Internet is OVER PRICED At the expense of Long suffering LOYAL customers who get poor recognition - I shall have to leave & find another, and better provider if costs don't drop to match the opposition - We are being ripped off-
