Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. Still having huge swings in download speeds.

I have no complaint with the practical aspects of BT. I would say however that communicating with them is not something to be undertaken by those of a nervous disposition.

Excellent, slightly more expensive than others but GOOD

BT have upgraded my broadband to their Halo service, my download speed is now up to 900Mbs and upload up to 100Mbs. Fttp is the way to go, as I live in Wales the Fttp was provided free of charge.

I have been experiencing some wild swings in download speeds, some days it can take up to 20 seconds to load a single page and on other days it takes just a couple of seconds. We seem to have a large number of OpenReach vans working in various places around our village.

Just had BT FTTP 900 installed and couldn't be happier. I made the decision to purchase my own router and went for the Asus RT-AX88U which is giving my full package results of 930Mbps download and 110Mbps upload wired. Wi-Fi 6 is just incredible with up to 800Mbps download using the correct devices. Range is also much better than anything I have had previously.

I've downgraded reliability this month because I have had a lot of days when the router has dropped out and had to be rebooted.

There has been interference/reduction in noise margin since mid-August and sync speed has reduced slightly/been variable but BT won't investigate because speed hasn't dropped enough!

We recently moved from from a BT 150 Package to BT250 Package and the speeds are appalling we are getting sub-100mb and we recently checked the status of the home hub and its showing we are only getting 115mb to the hub so since upgrading we are falling short of the minimum promised speed of !50mb so not impressed with the Service. The Open reach engineer has checked the Line and says it capable of receiving 170Mb so now we know that BT are throttling back our speed but they are happy to take our monthly subscription and falling sort month on month with providing the service we are paying for

Download speeds excellent, upload speeds quite good. Reliable connection most of the time but they do seem to update the firmware rather too often at about 3am when I am often still working - very annoying. Not, touch wood, needed to use their support so can't comment on that. My only gripe is the cost but I use too many bt email accounts to contemplate moving to another ISP.
