Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. The actual Fibre service is pretty much fine all the time. The only problem with BT is that their admin is often poor. I am generally satisfied - which is why I am still with them.

Fibre to the house broadband works well. Digital voice is a mess. Can't get anyone in BT to care. Complaints being ignored

BT is OVERPRICED - There are much better deals from other providers. Why do they do 'give away deals' for new customers, at the expense of their long standing & loyal customers who pay over the odds as a reward for being loyal & not switching?

One word 'excellent' in every respect.

I have had a fantastic 2 years with BT internet, wow did I really just say that? forget the Indian call centres and getting sent round in circles when u have a problem of a few years ago, they are like another company these days! I went back to BT after a long time with other providers, I vowed never to go back, but the new Gfast 330/50 was to big a temptation and the last two years have been a trouble free joy of ultra fast data and the couple of times I have called them I got lovely people who had excellent customer service skills, signing a new contract and they now offered me 500/75 for same price.

On the whole the service has been okay although it has dropped out a few times during the month but not for long.

Speed excellent - but getting a bit overpriced.

FTTP installed by Openreach. First Openreach engineer arrived with his large van and soon he was joined by two other engineers each one with a large Openreach van. They each spent three hours here and did absolutely nothing at all except to grumble about how difficult the job would be and how it would be necessary to run three separate cables up and down the side of the house. None of them even entered the house. Five days later a single Openreach engineer arrived. Took quick look outside and came into house to see where the BT router is. Within two hours had the whole job done with no visible cables outside or inside. He knew exactly what to do and was very polite, patient and cheerful. Did a really great job very quickly.

Luckily my Broadband has been reliable over the past few months, although it is 15% slower now than it was 6 months ago, which I am not best pleased about. It has the feeling of being throttled, since it takes a lot longer to get on to some websites now than it used to. I have a BT internet e-mail address, which now works properly for the last few months. Earlier I was on the appalling BT Yahoo server, and my e-mails took ages to download, and also were not compatible with my Outlook client. BT's attitude was if you can read it in your webmail, that is all we have to do, which is a dreadful attitude. They also advised me that the problems were with my Outlook, in spite of the fact that I had the same issue on another laptop. I am still really angry at the amount of my time that they wasted for me in telling me the problem was mine and not theirs. The only reason I stayed with them is because I had shares in them ( what a mistake!!), and wanted to see them do well.
