The Guardian website has details on France Telecoms plans to roll-out a TV service using ADSL technology to get it into peoples homes.

The Public Policy Forum is hosting an online debate on the role of broadband in central and local government services. The debate is expected to include community broadband, aggregation of public sector broadband demand to buy network capacity and 'next generation' public services.

he DSL forum is claiming record growth for broadband DSL in 2003 with almost 28 million extra subscribers last year bringing the global total user base of DSL technology close to 64 million connections. These figures prepared from research carried out by Point Topic on behalf of the DSL Forum show a growth rate of 77.8%. The top performers in terms of growth are South and East Asia with Western Europe in second place with 8.3 million new DSL subscribers. The last quarter of 2003 saw nine million additional connections exceeding all expectations of even the industry experts.

Sandvine, the company that develops network analysis and filtering products has authored a white paper which claims that service providers worldwide are going to bear a cost of USD 370 million during this year as a result of Internet worm attacks which hit residential subscribers.
