Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. Had a problem with phone/Internet and this was dealt with very well and quite quickly. Satisfied.

On the very rare occasion that there's been any sort of problem, it has been resolved promptly to my satisfaction.

Really poor speeds and not impressed when we are supposed to be getting super fast speeds, nothing more frustrating when watching Netflix and your broadband is struggling and Neflix pauses

Convoluted contract options, website more interested in selling than helping - Truly appalling "assistance" with problems. This is not the fault of the operatives, but sadly they seem to have little command of the English language, making communication difficult. The upside is that the router is good quality, and largely the connection has been very reliable, although scraping the very bottom of the "guaranteed speed." With easier to understand contract options and FAR better (preferably UK based) customer service, together with a customer-based website - they'd be the best !

I subscribe to BT Infinity 1 and its speed is consistently fine for my purposes. There have been a few short breaks in service but these were restored automatically before I had time to enquire about them. I have not needed to contact BT support as my broadband service has been very reliable. I believe BT do some screening to prevent some scams and viruses getting through because I also (in parallel) used to have an Easily account which allowed through many dubious messages and Easily was unable to stop them.

Disappointingly slow download and upload speeds which have dropped by 1/4 since last year. Reliability is generally good though.

My speed in 2017 was 35. Now it's down to 28 and costing me more. Also I have been sent a "free" Google home speaker that I don't use as I don't have a smart phone or table. Useless provider

I recently tried to switch from BT Business internet and phone to Residential, and just about everything that could go wrong went wrong big time! My order was suddenly cancelled from their end for a ('technical reasons'),so I had to start again from scratch with new people..this caused major issues, as no one seemed to get it right. I odered one thing and got another, I agreed a telephone and broadband package at a 'set price' and got and agreement for product features that I did not ordered. The telephone order was processed at a different date to the broadband, as biz could not see res and res could not see biz's databases, there was no work around either, one had to call in and start again!! It was as if the guy who I spoke in sales had an incentive to book the wrong products which cost more for commission reasons!!! The sad news it was all the details were carefully confirmed on the call at the close, and it went down the pan once I put the phone down. I started the switch thinking it would be a breeze, little did I know. It tooks ages to convert, and I am still not 100% sure if all the cold calling nutters that I blocked with 1572 Call Protect feature will be transferred to my residential account; no one could confirm this query for me at BT. It would be par for the course that no one in the R and D at BT has thought that maybe the unwanted calls that were unwanted at biz might still be unwanted when one goes residential. I cannot be their first customer who has attempted this switch. BT did compensate me for the frustration I experienced. It did not seem enough. Other things that happened were that some staff would put you on hold during a call, and the line would drop out leaving you to have to start again, also, a staff member aggred to call me back if the line dropped out and did not call, another one agreed to email me info which did not happen. On the upside though the BT new router is a breeze to install and works well, I have managed to link it to the old NetGear extenders I have in the house, and the broadband is handling all the emails and the TV channels well. I have run a speed today and the results of the line are within specification. The price of the new package has reduced my IT costs by some 30% ..no gain without pain as thye say. Could have done without the pain.
