Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. Broadband goes down 2-3 times every evening, BT support is nil. Going to change when other companies offer their services in our south Sussex area.

I've been with BT now for 5 years and the service has been faultless. I'm on their BT superfast fibre service and it has always delivered the speed offered and never fallen below 67mbps. But then I live within sight of the BT exchange. Really pleased with the service.

We are experiencing frequent drop offs of both download and upload speeds but don;t know whether it's the connection or the service itself. We no longer use BT's supplied hub but have bought a TP-Link modem instead, seems much more reliable so far, and because we don't have their hub any more we haven't asked for any support.

I gave 5 stars because it rarely fails and speed is very good. However, if you do have a problem it is not the best to get it resolved. Fortunately I have rarely needed to access help hence my excellent rating!

I dislike your constant increase in prices. Douglas Shewan

I had to move house into temporary accommodation. I subscribed to BT's Premium Mail service to keep both my email address and my wife's. When we moved into our new home, and I took out a new BT contract, my email address was included but not my wife's. Calls to BT proved to be useless. Twice I was promised a call from their Tech Dept, but was never called. All I got was a brusque comment that my wife's address had been deleted and it was impossible to reinstate it. BT's broadband speed at my new address (less than two miles from my old address) is dismally slow with frequent drop-outs of service altogether. It's a dismal side of BT that I never knew existed.

I have no complaints regarding BT who provide a stable service. There is little or no contact with Customer Service, except when there is a problem. I have had problems in the past and found the customer service experience convoluted to say the least. In the last 4-5 years I have had a constant signal, with little issue.

When I first changed to BT I had fairly low speeds. I complained and they investigated. Result was because I was exchange only line. Some time later a green cabinet was installed in the pavement outside the exchange and I thought that would end my poor speeds. However, it was not that good for someone who lives 250 yards from the exchange. First part u/g then one o/h span to my house. Investigation revealed some Ally cable somewhere in the service to my house that was causing the problem. I just had to accept it. With no further input from me speeds are now 80/20 Mbps so obviously work was done to get rid of the Ally cable. I took a long time but am happy with the service.
