Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. Never a constant speed even though we are paying for super fast broadband its seems to slow right down at peak times which is not great as its a peak times we also want to use the service and when you complain you get an issue with a language barrier as they use off shore customer services

Over priced, I barely get 38Mbps and I'm paying £56 per month for what is supposed a 60Mbps - a complete rip off - I had Virgin at my previous address and that was 100Mbps for half the price. Unfortunately I can't get Virgin where I've moved to. BT control all the speeds to any other provider e.g. Sky, Talk Talk, PlusNet - I'm never going to get any better!

Reliable speed but with occasional drop out, luckily have not had the need to use their customer service so can't really comment on that aspect. Overall very happy with BT as my broadband supplier

Great service

Download speeds are poor as is support. BT regularly increases charges without justification

On the whole I am satisfied with BT as a supplier. A couple of things do annoy me though. If you are already a customer you can not get the deals they regularly offer. Also as a broadband champion for our village I find it very difficult to contact anyone at BT (Openreach) regarding what is happening to improve the fibre delivery to many residents in and around our village in Cumbria who get very poor broadband delivery. Some of those residents even have a fibre cable passing right by their property. It is thanks to 'Thinkbroadband' that I get any information at all. I even carried out a local survey of who required better broadband as part of the Voucher Scheme but never heard back from them.

Don't even have fibre here with no plans for it in the near future, wifi constantly cutting off and throwing devices off and refusing to let them connect again without restarting hub. BT don't really give a dam about it

I have been with bt now for 10 years my 18 months contract run out.they gave me a offer sames as i was on and no guarantee of a price rise for next 12 months told them i was going, as new members were getting a far better deal, when i pointed out to them as a loyal customer i wanted a better deal than a new customer as i have been with them for 10 years .I was told this was for new members only and could not better the offer so i have left and gone to plusnet on a guaranteed fix price for 18 months .I have had reasonable service from bt except some calls were routed outside of uk and was hard to get proper service then i found the complaints procedure then i got proper attention it is a pity one has to resort to this but got my problem fixed after i got what was called a super internet engineer found my problem rely quick had 4 engineers before who were at a loss to why i had no internet the whole thing took 4 weeks to resolve then i had 18 months of uninterrupted service which was rely nice .Pity we could not do a deal for new contract but when you only have a state pension one has to find the best deal possible .

FTTC great and reliable in my rural location. The only issue I've had was when they cocked up the contract "renewal" for the LL before Caller Display was free and I had to waste time giving them some stick and getting a refund on the charge, which needed two goes in all! Otherwise no real problem. Had to haggle on 3 different occasions to get the best deal on last FTTC renewal (previous two offers were rubbish). But considering all the price rises generally, paying only £2 more than when I started FTTC almost 4 years ago can't be bad :)
