CityFibre FTTP now live in Glasgow

Our database of where CityFibre has its network available for the public to order has updated on Friday evening and the latest area added is the Hillington suburb of Glasgow.

The choice of ISP over this bit of the CityFibre network is between Brawband broadband and TalkTalk, who both offer symmetric full fibre products.

The streets that we have added to our maps so far for CityFibre in Glasgow already were covered by the Openreach FTTP network, so the main change for locals is increased choice and better upload speeds. This overlap also means no big change for the overall FTTP coverage figures in Glasgow.

This is not the only new bits of CityFibre roll-out showing on our maps this week, Peterborough had a decent sized addition and a smaller amount was added in Southend.

  1. Pretty sure it’s only BrawBand that’s available in Glasgow at the moment

  2. How do you know if you’re ordering Openreach or CityFibre via TalkTalk?

  3. Upload speeds should match download speeds if using CityFibre network

  4. I did a test with a postcode that definitely doesn’t have doesn’t have Openreach FTTP and only city fibre and it’s still showing 75 upload.
But there are a few places that have both infrastructure so can’t tell what’s what.
