TalkTalk rocked the broadband cart monumentally in 2006 and the new price
point for its entry level service SimplyBroadband which
unlike many entry level products is totally unlimited and is
just £2.50 per month gives the cart another good push.
There is still of course the voice line rental to be paid at £15.40 per
month (line rental saver by paying 12 months in advance reduces price to
£10.50/month). The downside compared to previous bundles is that there are no
inclusive calls, the anytime UK calls boost costs £5.50 and to avoid bill shock
there is a £20 per month limit on billed calls. The contract period for Simply
Broadband is 12 months.
The new low price point trickles down to the fibre
packages, reducing their price by £5 per month, so that Fibre Medium (up to
38 Mbps down, up to 1.9. Mbps up) has a standard price of £12.50 per month, and
the faster Fibre Large (up to 76 Mbps down, and 19 Mbps up) is £17.50 per
month.
The prominence of totally unlimited in the product pages emphasises that the
traffic management that people used to worry about with TalkTalk is now a thing
of the past, bringing them into line with providers like Sky. Some will be
wondering if the £2.50 per month is a promotional price, and the answer is no,
it is the standard monthly price. Existing Essentials customers who want to
take advantage of the new low price point can change product if outside their
minimum term.
“* Unlimited Broadband TalkTalk slows down non-time critical peer to peer file sharing at peak times, to ensure the best internet experience for all of our customers. Promotional unlimited download allowance is subject to availability and maybe withdrawn at any time. Fair usage policy applies to unlimited download allowance”
Where are you quoting from? That reads like the old Essentials package information.

“Is traffic management used during peak hours? NO “
Er… weren’t TalkTalk complaining that there was no margin in FTTC for a price reduction?
Legal section – maybe it’s not up to date.
Their customer service was naff at the prices they are charging now, what are they going to do at this price, send the script to the customer and tell them to work it out.
too cheap to be honest, something got to give, Talk Talk was too cheap before.

Ever shopped at Aldi or Lidl? You’d be surprised at the high quality of some of the things they sell. Ditto for Talktalk 🙂
shopping at Lidl or Aldi is not really the same as broadband. TBH, I don’t really think much of Lidl or Aldi, some things are just too cheap.
