Openreach extends the uninhabitable FTTP pilot again

Following a previous extension to Openreach’s uninhabitable locations FTTP pilot, Openreach has announced to communication providers that it has extended the trial by a further seven months, to now end on 31st March 2027. The pilot aims are to test the process for FTTP installation in uninhabitable locations such as CCTV cameras, bus shelter signs, EV chargers and lifts. It uses a ruggedised ONT. Pilot pricing remains the same as previously announced. They haven’t provided a reason for the extension, so we assume they need more time to verify the viability of the process.

BDUK gigabit broadband voucher scheme extended

ISPreview picked up that the government has allowed an extension to the GBVS to allow the vouchers to be claimed later than the current deadline of 31st March 2027. The change will mean vouchers can be issued beyond this date but builds must still be completed by the 2028 deadline.
