Openreach updates SOTAP pricing

Openreach Logo

Openreach has published new pricing for its SOTAP (Single Order Transitional Access Product) products, which come into effect from the 1st April. The adjustments amount to a small 3.6% change, which aligns with the UK’s CPI rate for October 2025. SOTAP is designed to be a temporary service that will allow vulnerable customers who currently don’t have broadband at home to avoid having to have broadband installed. The existing phone will continue to work over the existing copper pair to the telephone exchange, but will be changed to terminate in new hardware at the exchange that replaces the old WLR hardware, effectively making it a digital voice or Voice over IP service. This will then allow the continued decommissioning of the old PSTN network.

The annual SOTAP rental price will increase to £110.33 per year. from the existing £106.50. Full details are in the document Openreach Access Charge Change Notice, ACCN:OR1039.

  1. Are you sure about your description of SOTAP? I thought that SOTAP was the OR name for ADSL without the analogue voice signal. I think that what you have described is SOTAP for Analogue, which is called Pre-Digital Voice by BT. That is the product that converts to VOIP at the exchange.

    • Happy with what John wrote. SoADSL is Single Order ADSL i.e. ADSL with no analogue voice service
