BDUK updates quarterly delivery performance

Building Digital UK (BDUK) Logo

BDUK has published its second official quarterly statistics to provide data on how many premises in the UK have had gigabit broadband installed through a subsidy funded via BDUK. This data includes the last two quarters of figures from April to the end of September 2025. Figures from previous time periods have also been revised where updated data has emerged.

44,000 premises were delivered in Q1 2025/6 (April to 30th June) and 36,200 for Q2 2025/6 (July to 30th September). This brings the total premises estimated to have received coverage thanks to BDUK projects to 1,307,200. This accounts for 3.9% of current UK gigabit coverage (which is currently at 33,099,841 premises – up-to-date broadband statistics can be found in our broadband coverage data).

For the 6 months covered in this period, there are some key stats:

PremisesPercentStats
57,21071%Delivered by gigabit contract or Government Infrastructure Subsidy
14,46018%Delivered by Vouchers
8,59011%Delivered by Superfast & Hubs

1,4002%Delivered by a gigabit contract or Government Infrastructure Subsidy

A revision was made to correct the number of hubs delivered, as this has decreased from 380 previously reported down to 240. This is due to these being subsidised via other public bodies.
