YouFibre in Peterlee mapped

More full fibre is on our maps of UK broadband services and the roll-out by YouFibre has raised North East England into double digits for FTTP availability at last.

Earlier in January before we had done a sweep for FTTP in places we were not expecting it the FTTP coverage for the North East was a lowly 8.79% (7th January) but with the addition of the YouFibre footprint and some more from Openreach and Virgin Media the footprint has now risen to 10.46% (17th January). Obviously 10% is far from ideal, but we can see that the YouFibre footprint is set to grow, and with CityFibre due to start appearing in Newcastle, along with FibreFirst activity from Openreach hopefully the region will catch up with the other English regions.

YouFibre has three tiers of service all with free install:

  • 50 Mbps at £22/m on an 18 month contract.
  • 150 Mbps at £30/m with an 18 month contract.
  • 1000 Mbps at £50/m also with an 18 month contract.
