BBC News Online reports that Oftel has finally ruled in an ongoing complaint between Thus/Energis
and BT.
The ruling should mean that Thus/Energis will be able to combine their network with the DSL hardware that BT have in the exchanges. This means that Thus/Energis could offer lower contention
products by using their own back haul from the exchange whilst avoiding the problems of LLU, i.e. renting line from BT and installing DSLAM’s at exchanges.
How long before we see a product based around this is anybodies guess.
