ISPA Awards 2010: Winners

ISPA last night announced for the 12th year, the winners of their annual
ISPA Awards at an event in London. This year both the Internet Hero and
Internet Villain awards were presented to opposite camps of the Digital Economy
Act with the Villain being awarded for Lord Mandelson for his work pushing the
act through parliament without extensive scrutiny, and the Internet Hero being
given to Tom Watson MP for leading the opposition to the Act.

BE won the highly contested Best Consumer Fixed Broadband award
which was previously won by its parent company O2, whilst Claranet and FREEDOM4 WiFi walked away with Best Business Fixed
Broadband and Best Mobile Broadband respectively for the second year
running.

  1. Nice to see the winners, especially Tom Watson who put up a brave fight on behalf of the people.

    Great to see the dark lord Mandelson get his due reward. He will go down in history as the man who set digitalbritain back for decades.

  3. Be is the worst is it? Personally I think it is about time they won an award usually they just win my very discerning custom, but you can’t really put that on the mantelpiece

  4. @Somerset – Neither Tom Watson nor Lord Mandelson was there.. Tom had a constituency engagement (I guess that’s why he’s a good MP)
