3Com to abandon DSL and Cable modems
Over on The Register they are saying3Com, the increasingly harassed networking equipment vendor, is scrapping production of DSL and cable modems for the consumer market.
It looks like 3com feel there is not enough profit in the area - the concern will be that this may leave us with fewer ADSL/cable modem manufacturers and less competition therefore higher prices. This happens at just the time that 'wires-only' interfaces are around the corner in the UK.
