A report from The Telegraph claims that Oftel have aborted LLU.
They say:

“OFTEL, the telecoms regulator, has abandoned its programme of opening up BT’s local networks to other operators. The dramatic move follows the decision by many of BT’s potential rivals to pull
out of the competitive process because of the costs.”

It is certainly the case that many of the companies who were so enthusiastic about LLU have now dropped out due to the high costs involved. However, we are yet to see any confirmation from OFTEL
that LLU is to stop.

I checked their site before writing this article and found no mention of this at all.
Please check back for further updates.
