The BTIgnite exchange checker is to be updated to return more reliable information. I quote spin049 which states the changes
to be made:
“The telephone number check will now require that the associated BT telephone account number be also entered in addition to the End Users’ telephone number.
[..]
Based on the specific telephone number an estimate will be calculated on the length of the copper access network between the End Users’ home/office and their serving exchange. It will also detect
the presence of underlying technical factors that may prevent ADSL service being delivered. This will allow the checker to give a more accurate indication of the likelihood of receiving service at
a location based on telephone number details.” [john]
