Caerphilly Broadband initiative is combining both
public and private funding to bring ADSL to a further three exchanges in Wales. They are, Blackwood, Hengoed, Newbridge. Additionally Bargoed which was to be part of the scheme, has managed to
reach its BT trigger on its own, and so will be enabled on April 30th 2003. The dates for the three other exchanges are to be announced some time soon.
As with the ACT-Now scheme in Cornwall, it is not just about enabling BT exchanges for ADSL, the thrust of the scheme is to provide local business with Broadband access at a subsidised rate. The
purpose being to kick start local economies.
