EE

Summary

EE Broadband is one of the biggest names in the UK market and now sits under the same brand as BT, following their merger. It offers a wide range of fibre broadband packages, from standard fibre through to full fibre with speeds up to 900 Mbps. The service is available to most homes in the country, and its reach continues to expand as Openreach upgrades more of the network. One of EE broadband’s biggest draws is its reliability. The service runs on the same infrastructure as BT, so speeds are usually consistent and dropouts are rare. Customers can also benefit from EE’s mobile expertise, with discounts and data boosts available for those who already use their mobile network.

Additional Comments

The broadband packages come with the Smart Hub wireless router, which is well rated for its WiFi range and stability. For households with multiple users or anyone working from home, the higher-end full-fibre options provide enough capacity for streaming, video calls, and gaming without lag. EE also offers a broadband app that allows customers to manage connections, check speed, and control devices, which adds a layer of convenience for families wanting to keep an eye on usage.

In terms of EE customer experience, feedback is mixed. Many people find EE Broadband reliable and easy to set up, and praise the performance once it’s running. But there are recurring complaints about customer service, particularly when something goes wrong. Long waiting times on the phone and difficulty resolving technical faults are common themes among dissatisfied customers. The company’s Trustpilot rating reflects this divide: some reviewers highlight smooth installations and fast speeds, while others express frustration with billing errors or slow responses when reporting issues.

Pricing is another factor to consider. EE is not the cheapest broadband provider on the market, and in many areas, smaller full-fibre networks now offer similar speeds for less. On the other hand, EE broadband packages tend to be stable and transparent, with few hidden costs, and they’re often bundled with mobile deals for better overall value. The contracts are typically 24 months, and prices may increase during that period, so it’s worth checking the small print before signing up. Overall, EE Broadband is a solid choice for anyone looking for a dependable connection from a trusted brand. It performs well in terms of speed and coverage, and the added benefits for EE mobile users make it appealing for those already in the network. Where it falls short is in the personal touch — customer support can be hit and miss, and the pricing isn’t always the most competitive. For most households, though, EE broadband delivers what it promises: fast, stable internet with the backing of one of the UK’s largest telecoms providers.

for the last good few years, I have enjoyed being a EE customer, however I received an email yesterday telling me my contract is due for renewal in 2 weeks time, fine I thought until I seen how much the increase was £17.00 for the exact same service. 72mbs. had they done something to increase the speed it would have gone someway to staying with them. I am now moving to vodaphone 200mbs and £7.00 cheeper. thanks EE but in todays climate £17.00 increase for no better a service just does not equate.

Very trouble free and great service. So glad I left BT.

Changed over from BT, upload speed went from 2.2Mbps to average of 0.85Mbps, could not solve the issue despite some very helpful staff, if you are any distance from Cabinet, bewareissues on upload performance, at best download is only 14Mbps on FTTC 900m from cabinet.

Poor service - a tree over the highway is about to take down our wire, but EE seem uninterested.

price increase of 37p, I think I can handle that, no slow downs great, especially during these dark days of covid19, and a lot more people on line.

Changed from BT just before xmas and only reason was because of price as BT was very quick and reliable but been on EE now for 2 months and cant fault then speed is slightly quicker and reliability is as steady as BT was and now paying 1/2 the price Happy Days

I switched from Vodaphone fibre to EE fibre broadband when my contract finished last November. The process was almost seamless. The new ISP has been very efficient and everything works well. The speed is as much as I can get here and the connection is very reliable. I chose EE as they were offering one of the lowest prices at the time. The contract is 18 months at which time there will be a price rise, but I'll simply switch again if I can't secure a reasonable deal then.
