EE

Summary

EE Broadband is one of the biggest names in the UK market and now sits under the same brand as BT, following their merger. It offers a wide range of fibre broadband packages, from standard fibre through to full fibre with speeds up to 900 Mbps. The service is available to most homes in the country, and its reach continues to expand as Openreach upgrades more of the network. One of EE broadband’s biggest draws is its reliability. The service runs on the same infrastructure as BT, so speeds are usually consistent and dropouts are rare. Customers can also benefit from EE’s mobile expertise, with discounts and data boosts available for those who already use their mobile network.

Additional Comments

The broadband packages come with the Smart Hub wireless router, which is well rated for its WiFi range and stability. For households with multiple users or anyone working from home, the higher-end full-fibre options provide enough capacity for streaming, video calls, and gaming without lag. EE also offers a broadband app that allows customers to manage connections, check speed, and control devices, which adds a layer of convenience for families wanting to keep an eye on usage.

In terms of EE customer experience, feedback is mixed. Many people find EE Broadband reliable and easy to set up, and praise the performance once it’s running. But there are recurring complaints about customer service, particularly when something goes wrong. Long waiting times on the phone and difficulty resolving technical faults are common themes among dissatisfied customers. The company’s Trustpilot rating reflects this divide: some reviewers highlight smooth installations and fast speeds, while others express frustration with billing errors or slow responses when reporting issues.

Pricing is another factor to consider. EE is not the cheapest broadband provider on the market, and in many areas, smaller full-fibre networks now offer similar speeds for less. On the other hand, EE broadband packages tend to be stable and transparent, with few hidden costs, and they’re often bundled with mobile deals for better overall value. The contracts are typically 24 months, and prices may increase during that period, so it’s worth checking the small print before signing up. Overall, EE Broadband is a solid choice for anyone looking for a dependable connection from a trusted brand. It performs well in terms of speed and coverage, and the added benefits for EE mobile users make it appealing for those already in the network. Where it falls short is in the personal touch — customer support can be hit and miss, and the pricing isn’t always the most competitive. For most households, though, EE broadband delivers what it promises: fast, stable internet with the backing of one of the UK’s largest telecoms providers.

Like many people, I have been a customer of quite a few broadband providers over many years. Some have given very good customer service and some have been really awful (yes BT, I mean you). I was previously with Plusnet which gave me very good service but I then moved to EE for a much better deal. My experience with EE over the last couple of years has been excellent and I will give them 10 out of 10. I also like their website and as I have my phone services with them, checking things like calls is easier than others. So here is the anomaly: BT owns Plusnet and EE although they are run as separate companies, so why is there such a difference in service levels? Maybe BT have upped their game since I was a customer, but after some really horrendous, appalling problems with them such as losing my broadband for 10 days that was due to an admin error and not a technical problem, I cannot envisage ever returning to them. All companies have both satisfied and dissatisfied customers, so my comments above are just based on my personal experiences.

Excellent reliable service. Speed consistently over 70mb/s and seldom less than 67mb/s. Just renewed contract for further 18 months at a lower price!

EE have given me great service over many years at a realistic cost. The download speeds are always good. We also have a deal on two sim cards with them, again, at a very reasonable cost. Customer service always good, with a call centre here in the UK, great!!! You get to talk with proper people

I'm happy with the reliability of my FTC connection, but before I took out my contract I asked when they would start using IPV6. I was told it would be running by the end of 2020. Well, this hasn't happened and I'm very disappointed. Their customer service is good; I've never had to wait long when I've called them. The download speed is good, I get around 37Mbps, which is the maximum I was told that I'd get. Shame about the IPV6.

Switched from BT to EE due to price went from £56 to £27 and to be fair speed, service and reliability are exactly the same cannot fault them and for 1/2 price

EE have never let me down; my router has always connected when I have turned it on.I get around 37 Mbps down and 8 Mbps up.This is always pretty consistant. I'd like to know when EE Broadband will support IPV6? Can anyone tell me?
