The £132m Superfast Cornwall project has won an award that recognises it as
Project of the Year at the World Communication Awards, which was judged by a panel of people
who work in the communications industry around the world.
The projects website has updated its news already with the
details of the award, which is a refreshing change compared to some other
project websites, which can be three or four months out of date. While many
view the project as just getting fibre to the easy to reach premises in the
county, it is actually is about a lot more than just ensuring a higher than
national average number of fibre to the premises connections. The project aims
to help businesses already located in the county to utilise the benefits of
better connectivity and attract firms that are not already located in Cornwall,
plus digital inclusion is a core part of the project.

example of expertise, cooperation and innovative investment. It will provide a
major boost for the future prosperity and wellbeing of Cornwall and the Isles
