Has Which? uniquely identified the broadband not spots across the United Kingdom, or is it just raising its own profile with the latest press release?

Northern Ireland has taken the top spot from the Yorkshire and Humber region for the region or nation in the United Kingdom with the highest percentage of full fibre as the nation now has 11.7% coverage.

The cheapest broadband deals are wonderful until you discover that this also means putting up with lots of video buffering in the evenings hence why we monitor the performance of both downloads and the equivalent of streaming video. We look back at how the major providers performed in December 2018.

The ultrafast broadband roll-outs from Openreach continue and with the latest G.fast and FTTP areas we have spotted their ultrafast broadband footprint is 2,017,683 premises.

The G.fast footprint continues to grow and with the latest five exchanges we now know of pods live on some 260 different exchanges.

Our monthly round up of the levels of coverage across the UK makes its first outing for 2019. The good news is that there is more full fibre, the bad news is that this is slower to roll-out than VDSL2 so coverage levels are improving at a much slower rate.

Another six exchanges have seen G.fast arrive on our checker in the form of 104 pods offering download speeds of 100 Mbps to 330 Mbps.

It is time once to look at the speeds of the different broadband products that we saw in the previous month, and by using crowd sourced data we are able to include many of the products that Ofcom is years away from including in its own performance reports.

We may only be on the 2nd day of 2019 but we have published our analysis of all the speed tests we saw in Q4 2018, complete with speeds for the different broadband technologies seen across the UK.
