Two more areas with Fibre First FTTP spotted

We are continuing to find more of Openreach FTTP roll-out and since Monday the premises passed count has gone from 900,321 premises to 912,108, this increase is largely down to two new exchange areas where the start of Fibre First roll-out has been spotted and these are Gedling (Nottingham) and Twickenham. The third component to the increase is additional new build premises around the UK and further deployments from various BDUK projects.

Openreach full fibre footprint in Gedling
Postcodes where Openreach GEA-FTTP is available in Gedling

The well trod pattern we have observed before is expected to repeat which is that the footprint for the GEA-FTTP service will increase over the coming weeks and on both of the new exchanges we are already seeing people who had exchange only lines or no VDSL2 at their cabinet now with GEA-FTTP options, in additonal to the classical Fibre First picture of FTTP appearing in areas with good VDSL2 speeds.

As usual the maps are still rendering the highest zoom levels but the postcodes are all in our package search and no doubt there will be more added by the end of the day.

For those who would rather ignored premises passed, don't panic we will be covering things like take-up of the services in the future, but first there has to be enough GEA-FTTP rolled out to areas where VDSL2 with superfast speeds is available to be able to talk about the changes we are seeing in the speeds people are recording.
