Forum moderation changes…

Time flies really quickly these days and only a few months ago, we
celebrated our 15th birthday. During our journey, we’ve been fortunate enough
to be supported by a great community, and at the forefront of that community
have been our moderators. The job of a moderator is never easy with everyone
having their own views about how to run the community, but one has struck out
in particularly over the years at being sensible, proportionate and respected
by colleagues and users alike.

Many of you will have seen Don on the forums posting as ‘Sadoldman’ for most
of this site’s existence. He has been a key part of the thinkbroadband team
since and we greatly appreciate all the time he’s put in.

As his nickname suggests, Don had already retired before joining our
moderating team and being one of its most active members. As many of you
noticed a while ago, he has been posting less over the past year due to health
reasons, so after over a decade of moderating, he has chosen to hand in his
gavel and step down from the moderator role.

We are immensely thankful to Don for all the time he has put into making TBB
the community it is today and wish him and his wife Joyce the best. We hope he
will stay around and remind some of our more vibrant members how they can
approach any subject in more appropriate ways.

Don has asked us to convey his appreciation to all our members (“the good,
bad, and indifferent” to be exact) 😉

  1. Moderating is never easy – no matter what you do, someone will step and flame you for whatever action you took.

Don – be well and be happy.

  2. To Don and indeed his colleagues at TBB, good wishes and many thanks for all your help and information down the years — not to mention entertainment at times ! Very Best Wishes.

  3. Best wishes Don and enjoy the time with your wife – uninterrupted by us naughty folk.

    Enjoy the future years together

  4. All the best Don. Happy retirement and try not to get under Joyce’s feet too much, otherwise you might find she gets you another moderating job 🙂

  5. All the best Don, and good wishes for all you are going through.

You’re a great chap. (Nick is different – RobertoS).

  6. Best wishes for future Don

You must be nearing octogenarian club that I’ve already joined 😉

  7. All the best in your retirement Don and thanks for the many years of moderation that has kept the trolls at bay 🙂
