BBC, Channel 4 and ITV may be spending £100m to create a YouView killer now
that they feel left out of the platform after its popularity as a ‘free’ device
via TalkTalk and BT, but the battle for the last spare HDMI connector on our
TV’s is far from done and dusted.
The catch-up service for ITV is a late joiner to the Roku platform and is
set to offer 30 days of catch-up content from across the portfolio of ITV
channels (ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV). The Roku streaming devices start at
£36.95 on Amazon with more expensive boxes adding 1080p to
the standard 720p resolution and an Ethernet port for those where WiFi access
is difficult.
The addition of the ITV Player means all the main TV channels are available
on the platform. No sign yet of the ITV Player on the NOW TV boxes but it is on
the way which are a slightly limited copy of the entry level Roku devices
subsidised by Sky.

If you want Netflix you’ll need an actual Roku device as obviously NOWTV don’t include it on their £9.99 box
