Our Android speed tester expired a few months ago, and after plenty of
pestering by users of the app we have released a new version that should
work on the majority of Android devices.

Speed testing on android phones can be done via Flash where a web browser
supports Flash, but Flash on most android devices is not fast enough to cope
with even ADSL speeds. Thus the need for a dedicated application, that is not
reliant on a devices browser and Flash implementation.
When the mobile speed tester was launched in 2010, it was envisaged
as being used mainly on mobile phones, but the rise of ever more powerful android tablets and the low price point of the
Google Nexus 7 means that many more people are watching
high definition video streams on them, and knowing how stable their connection
speed is very important, or whether it is worth even trying to watch video when
using a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The installation doesn’t work. I have set permission to install from non market applications but even after doing that it says “Application not installed”. This is on ICS.
Two ICS devices here and works with no issues.
Will delete it all again and double check once more.
I notice that the options (Settings, results etc) are seperated horizontally from each other, but not vertically, so you dont really know where one button starts and ends…
It’s all working. I forgot I had this issue
http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/newsite/t/4144490-possible-news-item.html
So downloads over wi-fi aren’t working properly. All sorted now though.
Works fine Galaxy S3 (ICS 4.0.4).
Three
7.80Mbps down
1.67Mbps up
This on my plate, so in between all the other stuff will try to do periodic updates, and then a release onto the Google Play store.
Any chance of a QR code?
doh, missed the top link 🙂
Will you guys be doing one for Windows Phone?? I have a Nokia lumia 900! 😉
