We are in the process of updating our ISP database and would like to hear
from any broadband service providers who use technology other than mainstream
DSL, cable or mobile to connect fixed premises to broadband. In other words, if
you run a fixed broadband service that uses technology such as:
- Wireless (Wi-Fi/WiMAX/microwave/etc.)
- Satellite
- Fibre/Ethernet to the premises or street cabinet (including FTTC which may
use VDSL tails)
Please drop an e-mail to [email protected]
with the subject line containing “ALTNET” and let us know what types of
services you offer and include your contact details. We will then get in touch
in due course to discuss the details.
This includes any community/voluntary/co-operative based
services who may be providing services for a small area such as a
village if it’s a service that’s available generally in the area as well as
commercial providers. Please note however that we are not
looking for ‘wireless hotspot’ operators that provide access in restaurants,
hotels, etc., but service providers that deliver services to homes and
businesses.
If you have any queries, drop us an e-mail.
I’m guessing as long as they resell service other than the technologies listed it’ll be on the list.
