Over the years, we have helped millions of users test their broadband speed
on our website, and we’re very pleased to be able to launch our mobile speed test for
Android into beta testing.
The app will allow you to test the downstream and upstream speed both on
mobile data (3G, HSPA, etc.) as well as Wi-Fi connections. It uses the same
underlying speed test that you can use on our website, but has some additional
features including a full graph of the speed profile to help you understand the
results better.
We would stress that the app is still in beta testing, so any comments, bug
reports and feature requests are welcome. We already have plans to add a number
of features, but we need yout help to make sure the core functionality of the
tester is accurate first 🙂
If you have any questions, please ask on our mobile speed test
forum.

Any plans for Windows Mobile version?
@hypertony: To be quite honest, Windows Mobile hadn’t even cropped up on our radar.. iPhone one will be next.. I suspect it won’t be too difficult for us to write a Windows version in due course.
Pls give the iPhone app an iPad resolution – look forward to it 🙂
tried this on myphone and it gave a speed of 0. Well I did try to run it on the iphone 🙂
@CARPETBURN: Thanks.. It’s been about six months in the pipeline but all sorts of things got in the way.. and there’s a lot more we want to do, but that goes for speed testing in general, not just this app. I like talking to coders who don’t know how to say “no” 🙂
@bosie – It should be very easy for us to build an iPad version which has a higher resolution.. whether we do anything more useful with it in terms of showing data might be a bit more tricky.. Anyone want to donate us an iPad? 🙂 (iPhone 4s are already on order)
A windows mobile version would be killer.
I don’t get why some think WM6.5 is a dead end, it still does many things that Android can’t.
@ otester… what can a WM6.5 do that Android can’t?
Doesn’t 6.5 get universally slammed by critics?
@snakeeyes
Well anything in particular? Just saying “media bashes it” don’t cut it!
Also with what HTC have done to it and the ROMs which are available…
Yeh on its own its not good, thats granted.
@ otester I have never read a positive review about WM 6.5 …. HTC made it bearable by putting Sense on it on the HD2 but overall its a big pile of poo especially compared to Android.
You said 6.5 can do many things Android can’t… I just asked you to name a few?
…. you cant can you! I owned a HD2 and sold it for my Nexus one, and never looked back!
