Timico acquires KeConnect

Acquisitions in the broadband market are not just about the large companies, and Timico has recently announced its acquisition of KeConnect. The respective press releases can be read on the Timico and KeConnect websites.

"We are delighted to have made our second acquisition. Like Timico, KeConnect is another convergence-focused business and shares our strong commitment to providing high quality, business strength solutions with exceptional personal customer service. By combining the two companies, we achieve a strategic opportunity to further increase the value of our business by gaining a customer base into which we are able to sell multiple services,"

Tim Radford, Chairman, Timico Group

KeConnect has been trading successfully since 1995 and is based near Ipswich, Suffolk. Currently it has around 6,000 broadband connections and the directors Robert Kemp and Gary Hill will remain with the company.

"We are please to be teaming up with a company as well respected as Timico because it offers us tremendous flexibility for our dealers as well as our customers,"

Robert Kemp, Sales Director, KeConnect

I'm a KeConnect reseller and I had to read it here... not a good start.

WIm - There was an Announcement of Timico's Acquisition of KeConnect within 24 hours of the completion of the deal on our Reseller Portal. ( All 537 resellers have access to this and any important info will be posted in there first. I want to emphasise it will be business as usual for all our resellers.

Just to follow up on this, KeConnect now has four separate locations in London and a fifth in Ipswich all of which will be integrated over time, giving us unsurpassed resilience. I am confident we will continue to top the ratings on ThinkBroadband for speed, reliability and customer service.

Hi Robert,

yep, I should've stuck to my schedule of checking my reseller portal :-)

I've got more details now and checked out Timico, so I'm actually looking forward to gaining a VOIP service and a more diverse back-end of network suppliers (BT, Tiscali, etc...)

It's also good to know this hasn't been an overnight decision, unlike my first reaction :-)
