Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. I have never had any issue with BT. Their service is very reliable, only once in a blue moon have I had any issue with the service, that fault was fixed in 5 minutes. The cost is OK for me, good value and the speed is very goos here in Bangor, Co. Down

All I can say is that it just works. The £20.00 discounted tariff is fine for me.

BT are almost impossible to deal with, but I would imagine most people find that. They are uncontactable, and renewing my broadband contract took days and a letter to Sheffield. How elderly people cope with them I cannot imagine. Also working out how to get my excellent existing phone system to work with the new Digital Voice system forced on me took some doing. My down and up speeds are OK for what I need, but my router drops out occasionally. Neighbours tell me they have this problem also. However, I persist as other providers are worse, I am told.

been guaranteed 120MB download speed, but never exceed 50-60 mbs. Lately the speed has dropped to 35MB. When you test on BT speed tester it says 120MB (someone marking their on homework)

Fast and very reliable.

The inability of BT/Openreach to provide Ultrafast until at least 2026 in my area, despite promising it for 2022, means that I will be looking for another provider who sticks to the promises they make
