Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. In all my years with BT, I have had very little issue. Occasionally a billing glitch, but the service itself is fine. Are there cheaper? Yes, but BT works! An added bonus for me is the reduced OAP rate - £20.00 pcm for 80/20. I'm happy...

Customer service seems designed to mess you around until you give up. 4 Months and fault still not fixed.

BT have usually been very reliable over the many years we have been with them. Our current speed (we now have fiber to cabinet) is about 70Mbps download and 18Mbps upload, both of which are more than adequate for our needs. Over the past three years there have been two occasions when we have been without internet or landline for three or four days due to connection faults, the lack of landline was particularly a problem as we do not use smartphones. However BT paid us some compensation for the loss and provided a "Mini Hub" which uses 3 or 4G for internet connection while the usual service is down. If we've any gripes about BT they would be with the cost.

It just works! Perhaps not as cheap as some, but a good product.

I find it a little strange that my Broadband speed never varies from the absolute guaranteed minimum in the contract despite all the advertised blurb about my plan but I suppose that I should be grateful that they a least reach the minimum speed despite me paying them some £80 per month!!

BT have been very good when I reported a minor slow-down in download speed. Fixed in 24 hours!
