One of the strengths of Sky Broadband is its broad availability and familiar brand. Because the company has been operating for many years it has solid support processes, many package choices and regular promotional offers. For a typical household that just wants dependable internet, Sky provides a safe choice. The full-fibre options especially mean you can get very high speeds if your area is covered, in some cases the UK's fastest broadband speeds, which benefits streaming, online gaming and working from home.

However there are a few areas where Sky Broadband tends to fall short of the best-in-class providers. For example, across recent customer satisfaction surveys Sky’s score is moderate rather than exceptional. That means while the service works well for many, you should not assume it will be flawless everywhere. Reliability and speed tend to depend heavily on your local infrastructure and how far you are from network points. Some users report slower speeds or occasional drop-outs. Home Wi-Fi setups can also limit what you actually experience, despite having a fast line.

Another factor to keep in mind is cost and contract terms. Checking the renewal terms and what happens after your contract finishes is wise. Also you may be tied into a longer contract (for example 24 months) which limits your flexibility if you want to move or change provider. Sky is absolutely shocking have an internet outage where the fault is outside our property and STILL waiting for a Openreach engineeer to be alocated the job (two days so far) no communication from Sky whatsoever so I’ve had too call them twice!! Still no internet after two days who KNOWS when it’ll be back on!! Customer or NO customer service at Sky is a complete and utter JOKE!! As soon as my contract is up I’m leaving this joke of a company who call themselves Sky!!!!!

Absolute rubbish for Fibre to the Premises!! I’m paying for 150Mbp/s the WiFi is ABYSMAL with high latency!! The speeds I ACTUALLY get are more link 44-51Mbp/s!!!!! Far from happy with SKY!!! Ironically I was INFORMED that as soon as Fibre to the Premises was available too me then too get it (150Mbp/s) this so CALLED advice was from a Sky Tech guy who KNOWS about broadband and internet What a complete and utter JOKE of a company SKY is!!!!!!!

Good support when I need it but very expensive for the speed I am getting of iro 32mbps. However, they are always very patient with me when I need to reset something or other so no complaints there. At 83 & limited technical knowledge & with a mobility issue that's just what I need.

Speeds during July have deteriorated further; drop out and instability increased. And little or no response from Sky .... My Sky Broadband just works with no problems at all. The speed of my FTTC service is good. The recent price increase was very worrying for this pensioner, but they did reduce it somewhat for me!
