BT Ignite to be split away

BT have released information of how they plan to split up ‘BT’ into several seperate different companies to float on the stock exchange. As reported by the FT today, the main Networks division is to be named NetCo. BT Ignite is also due to be seperated off.

“BT Ignite, the group’s broadband and internet solutions company, will be prepared for a possible flotation in 2002 and 25 per cent of NetCo, the newly-formed network division, could also be
spun-off in the future.”
