TalkTalk sells 120,000 customers to Rise Fibre

TalkTalk has agreed to sell off 120,000 of its customers to Rise Fibre, after the company had already sold 29,000 to Utility Warehouse for £5m earlier this year. The deal is thought to mainly involve the CityFibre-based customers will increase Rise Fibre’s customer base up to around 250,000. VodafoneThree are known to be interested with a bid for TalkTalk’s wholesale arm Platform X.

UK to become second largest FTTP market in UK in 2028

Data from Point Topic indicates that the UK is forecast to overtake Spain as the second largest FTTP market in 2028. France will remain the largest single market at 31.7m subscribers estimated by 2030. Europe is looking to hit 157m FTTP connections by that time. 85m households across Europe will not be FTTP-enabled by that date.

RootMetrics awards EE as best UK mobile network

RootMetrics has released its 6-monthly UK mobile network performance data, which shows that EE continues to offer the best service in the UK. This is based on getting the highest RootScore Award. EE has won the overall award in every test since the second half of 2013. It has an aggregate median download speed of 130.3 Mbps, twice as fast as Virgin Media O2 (54.7 Mbps), who were next best.
