Our broadband maps have been updated and now feature the data from the Project Gigabit Open Market Review with the data being collected in January 2026 and released as a 31 million row data set in the last couple of days.
The January 2026 data joins the previous sets from Sept 2025, May 2025, Jan 2025 and Sept 2024. Once you zoom into levels 16 and 17 the map changes to an interactive map so you can see the status of each individual address in the latest OMR data.
Not all zoom levels are fully rendered yet, it is about 85% complete so if tiles vanish when viewing on the 11th or 12th June it will be that the render process is still running.
In addition to status of each address we have a second map that shows the contract status of each individual address.
The future predictions for Gigabit coverage for the various councils and constituencies will update with the next data push due on Saturday 13th June 2026. The list of different map layers has had a tidy up, with the various explanation texts now only appearing when you enable a particular layer.
As the data presented on the maps is based on what the many networks submitted to DSIT and the Project Gigabit team during January 2026 the actual availability of services will have changed. The bulk of the changes will be where full fibre has been rolled out but there will be a small number where providers said service was available, but have subsequently withdrawn the service.
One of the latest places to see Gigabit (full fibre in this case) arrive is Welney on the Oase Washes, plus other addresses in Wisbech. CityFibre was spotted live on Wednesday 10th June and added to our maps this morning. The addresses were shown as being part of the Cambridgeshire Project Gigabit with lots of the area under review.
Update Friday 12th June 2026: The map layers have finished rendering, and a bug in the interactive layer has been fixed.

Hello Andrew,
I take it that the “interactive” individual UPRN data has yet to catch up and is still being updated to reflect the new mapping?
i.e. Some dots that have changed, from Yellow to Grey in the new map, are saying:
Project Gigabit Lot: 29
Lot Name: Kent
OMR Status: Grey/Black
No change in status since Sept 2025
Address is not in a Gigabit Contract
BDUK data suggests: No Gigabit service
BDUK data suggests: No known future Gigabit rollout
Some of those data-fields are obviously contradictory, especially given that the status has indeed changed since Sept 2025.
My local councillor, who is also (unfortunately) my next-door neighbour, asked me to tell him when your map was updated.
I think that I will hang-fire on that request for a while, since he does not appreciate the amount of time & hard work that goes into producing the Think-Broadband data & mapping, and that major updates, like this one, cannot be instantaneous.
He is, however, quick to make sarcastic remarks; so I would ideally like to deprive him of that pleasure!
When do you think that it will be “safe” for me to tell him about your new map?
Many thanks,
Liz
Good spot on oddity – look again now please. Had missed a line in the code, so was pointing at the old data and comparing itself to itself, hence no change.
