The latest BDUK delivery performance report has been published by BDUK. The data shows how many premises in the UK have received a gigabit-capable broadband connection due to a BDUK subsidy. The data covers the period April 2025 to March 2026. The headline estimate for the number of gigabit broadband capable connections that BDUK has helped deliver is 192,570 for 2025 to 2026, which they say is a 28% increase (42,280) over the previous year. Their cumulative total now stands at 1,418,410 premises having received a gigabit-capable broadband service through the BDUK subsidy.
The breakdown of how these were delivered is:
| Gigabit Infrastructure Subsidy (Project Gigabit Contracts) | 139,490 | 72% |
| Voucher schemes | 30,530 | 16% |
| Superfast and Hubs | 22,550 | 12% |
90% of the connections delivered were in rural areas, and 90% of the total were for residential premises. England made up the largest share of the connections at 75%. Of the other nations, Scotland accounted for 16%, Wales 8% and Northern Ireland 1%. The breakdown of the English regions shows that the South West of England recorded the highest level of BDUK delivery in 2025/26, with 27,630 premises delivered. Yorkshire and the Humber were next highest (27,090 premises), followed by the North West (25,100 premises).
The quarterly delivery rate for Q4 2025-2026 was down compared with the previous two quarters, showing a slowdown in connections. BDUK explain that this is due to “contract mobilisation, supplier deployment schedules and programme maturity across interventions and regions”.
The data also made some minor revisions to previous data, with the Q3 quarter being updated to reflect a further 730 premises passed with superfast, and 30 premises being removed from the GIS delivery figures. 310 premises have now also been included in the voucher delivery figure for Q3.
