Openreach aims to close 100 phone exchanges by 2030
On top of the PSTN switch off in 2025, there is a longer term plan to shrink the Openreach exchange footprint from around 5,500 exchanges to something like 1,000 to 1,200 exchanges between 2030 and 2040.
