BeFibre has connected their first of up to 12,000 residents to their new full fibre FTTP network in Skelmersdale.

Openreach, the Infrastructure division of BT, is today launching its new OSA (Optical Spectrum Access) 100G Single product capable of delivering point-to-point Ethernet links at speeds of 100Gbps (or for those with legacy requirements, ten 10Gbps links).

Openreach says big milestone has been reached with 700,000 premises across Wales able to order a FTTP service over their wholesale network.

CityFibre is keen to highlight that while the contracted amount of premises in the Hampshire, Norfolk and Suffolk contracts is around 217,200 with commercial expansion they will also connect an additional 283,000 premises.

Blyth in the North East is one of the places where nexfibre has been building its FTTP service and the range of Virgin Media O2 services from 100 Mbps to 1152 Mbps download speeds are available.
