Our regular monthly update on the levels of broadband coverage across the regions of the UK is now available, revealing the UK has a Gigabit capable service available to 36.36% of premises.

Popping on our public information hat for a moment we feel its worth highlighting that some headlines in the UK about the Government dropping a superfast target for all are understating what has changed.

The goal of 100% Gigabit coverage by the end of 2025 is looking even further away with the latest spending review.

The Gigabit broadband race took a big leap in the small hours of Thursday 5th November when Virgin Media switched on ordering of its DOCSIS 3.1 service in Northern Ireland and London.

The full fibre roll-outs have been eclipsed by Virgin Media enabling another swathe of DOCSIS 3.1 on its existing cable network.
