The Ofcom Connected Nations report which uses address level data supplied by network operators was reporting 12.4 million premises passed by full fibre, setting a record of growth of 14 points in the 12 months prior to September 2022.

Another month with lots of full fibre being built, 1.51 points of coverage added in the 30 days since 7th November and if providers had worked harder to avoid overbuild it could have been a 2.1 increase.

Fibrus has been awarded the next Project Gigabit contract which is looking to spend £108m to bring FTTP to 60,000 rural premises.

The broadband social tariffs are still fairly new and take-up is still low with only a few percent of the eligible 4 million on them, so the latest words on the tariff from BT might seem cap in hand but it is a talk that needs to happen.
